Okay, bedtime routine, I'm a bit of a slacker. Life Happens, what can I say. My main rules are that my kids have nothing sugary after five pm and that we start our routine by 8pm. I would love to know why, considering those two factors, my children are still wondering around at 1030pm looking for food and entertainment and more food. Luca is tolerable, because she will lay in bed and sing or talk to herself until she falls asleep. And regardless of her bedtime she is quite pleasant in the morning.
Harper, she's a different story. She's my sleeper. I wake her up everyday for school, she would sleep until 830am, if she could. Well Harps, I have news for you, Mommy is officially tired!
Last night, Harper asked me to read THE SAME BOOK to her MORE than ten times. This book "I'm a Big Sister," is also the book Justin threatened to burn if he had to read. Harper has heard the story so many times that she has gotten to the point where she finishes the sentences of the book and answers the questions. We fell asleep, with book in hand, about 11:00pm, and to say we had a peaceful night, well-would be a flat out lie. As a result of four nights of restless sleep and subsequent back pain and "that look of fatigue," I have placed Harper up for sale to the lowest bidder..............yeah right, like I could stand a night without her. Besides she has the most funny "bead head" I have ever seen.
The ongoing story of two little clowns, Luca Elizabeth and Harper Collins-who make life fun, interesting, and blessed every moment. Enjoy the ride.

Good Old Fashioned Soft Serve
While waiting for the train to come in with Justin and his parents aboard, the girls and I stopped in downtown Mountain View for a treat. It is very difficult to tell if Luca is going to be in a "picture mood" as you can see from below, I got lucky and both girls were hamming it up for the camera, that was after I got "the look" of course.

It's Potty Time
Well truthfully, I thought that people who said their kids potty trained themselves before they were 24 months old, were just telling tall tales. Add me to the list. Last month we bought Harper a potty. We just put it in the bathroom and left it there until she was ready...it worked. The little squirt was reading a book, stopped and took off her diaper (and threw it in the trash, because she rocks). She proceeded to the bathroom, shut the door and minutes later came out having gone potty. I screamed so loud in excitement that I think I scared her. Not a fluke, I just received a text from daycare that she did the same thing. YAY Harper, now I can brag about you. I think it helps to have a sibling, because she wanted to be like Luca, no more of this diaper wearing for Harps!

After our "winter" hit and we got pounded with some cold rain, the girls were itching to get outside. We were lucky to have a beautiful Sunday afternoon to hang out together in Palo Alto. Our day started off at downtown Peet's Coffee for some hot chocolate and then we went to the park for a bit. After the park we had lunch and went to the Junior Children's Museum (where my camera lost battery power, doh!). The museum is really a neat place, first of all it's free..........the kids can explore and play with the wind tubine machine, the tennis ball contraption kept Harps busy for an hour. Luca got to climb on a spider web and check out the butterflies. After we played, we went outside and saw some various animals, even a "bombcat" at Luca says. Because I'm lame the highlight of my day was when I was in the bathroom with the girls and Harper looks through the stall at Luca and says "I see you." Luca replies "Harper, give me some privacy, geesh." All I could think of was a fast forward to these little girls as teenagers.......!
