After our "winter" hit and we got pounded with some cold rain, the girls were itching to get outside. We were lucky to have a beautiful Sunday afternoon to hang out together in Palo Alto. Our day started off at downtown Peet's Coffee for some hot chocolate and then we went to the park for a bit. After the park we had lunch and went to the Junior Children's Museum (where my camera lost battery power, doh!). The museum is really a neat place, first of all it's free..........the kids can explore and play with the wind tubine machine, the tennis ball contraption kept Harps busy for an hour. Luca got to climb on a spider web and check out the butterflies. After we played, we went outside and saw some various animals, even a "bombcat" at Luca says. Because I'm lame the highlight of my day was when I was in the bathroom with the girls and Harper looks through the stall at Luca and says "I see you." Luca replies "Harper, give me some privacy, geesh." All I could think of was a fast forward to these little girls as teenagers.......!

The Look

Most of you already know this, but Harper is very strong minded and for the most part, pretty vocal about what she wants. About 5 months ago, we started noticing that Harper used her eyes to communicate with us. For example, we would ask her to do something and she would give us "this look." Well, this look has become a daily staple in my home. It is not rare for me to hear "Um, Mom Harper's doing it again." It is very hard to take my child seriously, when she does this. I think I am annoying Aunt Martha because I keep sending the pictures to her. Luca has even adopted her own language with her eyes, "the puppy dog eyes."

When Harper looks at me like this all I can think of is "don't you tell me no." With Luca it's a different story.

Starving Toddlers

When it came time for the Bensings to move, every child in the neighborhood decided to help. I do not know what it is about an awesome yellow/orange truck but it drew quite a crowd. With the muscles of Martha/Moe/John/Rob and Dave we seemed to have a great crew. Prior to the big move, we were able to spend some time in Moe's garden and enjoy the wonderful weather. I'm sad Maureen moved farther away from us, after all it's about one block farther, how dare she.

WOW, it has been a bit long since we last updated you with our adventures. The Bond girls have been blessed with beautiful weather that has allowed us to spend a great deal of time outside. While our yard is not really grass, the girls could care less. They, like most children, have found fun in anything they can get their hands on. Justin commented to me the other day that our winter just passed us by and we did not miss it. Secretly, I think he misses the snow. Not so much of a secret, is that I did not. Luca and Harps are up to no good, however, Harper has learned a new phrase, much to Luca's dismay. Harper now says, "Sissy being naughty." We are looking forward to their grandparents coming to visit, I'm taking a work trip to Nashville and Mimi Chaput is even coming for a trip. We were blessed with the presence of Aunt Martha and Uncle John last week and hope to see Sarah and the kids soon too.
